TP-LINK MC111CS WDM Fast Ethernet Media Converter

Part/number : 311904

The MC111CS is a media converter designed to convert 100BASE-FX fiber to 100Base-TX copper media or vice versa. Adopting WDM technology, MC111CS takes only one fiber cable to transmit and receive data, which will save half the cabling. Designed following the IEEE 802.3u 10/100Base-TX and 100Base-FX standards, the MC111CS is compatible with single-mode fiber cable over the SC-Type connector. The MC111CS supports longwave (LX) laser specification at a full wire speed forwarding rate. It works at 1550nm on transferring data and at 1310nm on receiving data. So the other end device to cooperate with the MC111CS should work at 1310nm on transferring data and at 1550nm on receiving data. Another TP-LINK´s media converter MC112CS is just one of the examples to cooperate with MC111CS.

Other features of this module include the ability to be used as a stand-alone device (no chassis required) or with TP-LINK´s 19´´ system chassis, Auto MDI/MDI-X for TX port, Auto negotiation of duplex mode on TX port, and front panel status LEDs. The MC111CS will transmit at extended fiber optic distances utilizing single-mode fiber up to 20 kilometers(12.4 miles).

•Complies with 802.3u 10/100Base-TX, 100Base-FX standards
•Link Fault Passthrough and Far End Fault minimize the loss caused by link failure timely
•Adopts WDM technology, transmitting and receiving data on one single fiber

PLANET FT-802 TX to FX Bridge Media Converter- 2km

Part/number : 411702

PLANET FT-802 TX to FX is a Fast Ethernet Bridge 100Base-FX fiber to 10/100Base-TX shielded twisted pair (STP) converter. It supports both half-duplex and full-duplex operations and a variety of fiber
options. The converter auto-adapts to the highest level of performance supported by the device connected to the STP port. When the device is a switch or a workstation that supports full duplex, the converter adapts to the full-duplex mode and provides an effective 200Mbps bandwidth. When the connected device is a hub or a workstation that supports only half duplex, the converter adapts to the half-duplex mode and provides the nominal 100Mbps bandwidth. An override switch provides total manual control over the half/full-duplex operation, in fiber-optic interface. The fiber port of
the converter operates at 1310 nm and uses SC connectors over multimode fiber.

The FT-80x series is with LFP (Link Fault Pass through function) (LLCF/LLR) and the DIP switch design. LLCF/LLR can immediately alarm administrators in case of a problem and provide efficient solutions to monitoring the net. The DIP switch allows you to disable or enable the LFP function.

LLCF (Link Loss Carry Forward) means that when a device is connected to the converter and the TP line loses the link, the converter's fiber will disconnect the transmission link. LLR (Link Loss Return) means that when a device is connected to the converter and the fiber line loses the link, the converter's fiber will disconnect the transmission link. Both can immediately alarm administrators of the problem on the link media and provide efficient solutions to monitoring the net.
